When I watched: September 28, 2009

The Cricket in Our Bathroom

We have a cricket living in our bathroom. It's been about a week? Or maybe more. I don't know how long it supposed to live, but it's still alive... First I heard this noise in our bathroom, because we leave the fan... the ventilator... whatever on in our bathroom, I thought it came from there. You know, sometime it makes unknown noise? It sure was annoying, but what I could do about it?

But then, the other day, I was cleaning the bathroom floor, I found out the noise is not coming from the ceiling, but somewhere on the floor. I looked around... well... so that was when I realized that all this time that noise was actually (possibly) a cricket. But where? I don't see it anywhere... first of all, I would be already freaked out if I saw it there, second of all, I highly doubt it would just stay in our bathroom so long... Then I was looking at one possible place... The plunger... It was in the plastic cover sittin on the corner behind of the toilet... Yea, the noise sure came from there... I moved the plunger a lil bit, n the noise stopped. Then it started again, so I touched again, then it stopped! A-HA!

So I cautiously opened the plunger cover... I definitely didn't want it to jump out on me! But I don't see it. I know that you are in there...lol I didn't have guts to look through. I hate bugs.lol Hmm... I guess it is IN the plunger... I thought that I could use the plunger so it would come out n all I have to do is flush. But I just didn't. Well, I thought it would die soon...

Obviously it has a long life. I thought it lives only a week or so? No? So now every time I go to the bathroom, I touch the top of the plunger n give a lil shake n it stops. But now, it gets smarter, so it stops making its noise when I walk to the bathroom! Even before get in there! Ha! Isn't that funny?

Lyric Sunday: Beautiful

I am pretty sure that many girls LOVE this song! This song IS beautiful! I loved this music video as well...

Beautiful

Everyday is so wonderful,
then suddenly, its hard to breath
Now and then I get insecure,
from all the pain I'm so ashamed

I am beautiful no matter what they say
Words can't bring me down
I am beautiful in every single way
Yes words can't bring me down (ohhh nooo)
So don't you bring me down today
(mmmhmm mmm)

To all your friends you're delirious
So consumed in all your doom.... (oohh mmm)
Trying hard to fill that emptiness,
The pieces gone, left the puzzle undone,
Ain't that the way it is?

You are beautiful no matter what they say
Words can't bring you down (ohhh noo)
you are beautiful in every single way
Yes words can't bring you down (ohhh noo)
So don't you bring me down today

No matter what we do
No matter what we say
We're the song inside the tune
Full of beautiful mistakes
And everywhere we go
the sun will always shine
And tomorrow we might awake on the other side

'Cause we are beautiful no matter what they say
Yes words won't bring us down (ohhh noo)
we are beautiful in every single way
Yes words can't bring us down (ohhh noo)
So don't you bring me down today

Don't you bring me down mmmm, today

by Christina Aguilera

Yep, "everywhere we go, the sun will always shine", that is so true! I love this song!!

Sunday Breakfast

Today's our Sunday breakfast is... leftover fried rice...lol What? They like it, so it's all good!lol

In Japan, well I guess it's only traditional families I guess, have a big big breakfast. Like rice n miso soup are of course as usual, there can be grilled fish, salad, egg, e.t.c... Unfortunately, my mom never made that kind of breakfast. But when we went to trip n stayed at Japanese style hotels, there's always yummy big breakfast. Awww... I miss that...lol

Chocolate!!!

I am sooooo craving for chocolate right now!!! Ugh!lol Not any chocolate, well, I would take any Japanese chocolate though. Okay... let's be honest here... I was craving for Japanese chocolate soooooo bad, I've been stealing my kids' chocolate one after another...lmao Those are from Japan, my mom sent it for kids, n it's supposed to be for the treat when John did his study or Michele did something good... N now I'm stealing those...lol

Since I was little... I was always a chocolate girl. I couldn't live without chocolate.lol My breakfast was ALWAYS toasts with chocolate spread. I love chocolate so much, I even won a live ticket by eating chocolate! By the time I was in high school, I could tell which is what brand chocolate with one bite.lol I used to start a day with chocolate, end a day with a chocolate. It's not only chocolate was always in my purse, but it was always by the bed too.

But let me tell you... No offence(to who?lol), but Japanese chocolate is nothing like American chocolate. It's not that sweet, I mean, I would say American chocolate is too sweet, like sugar sweet. Compare to that, Japanese chocolate is not too sweet, n taste like 100% chocolate.lol So I can eat more n more. This is not only my opinion. My friend Lani, who's a American girl, has experienced Japanese chocolate for her first time, that was like 5 to 6 months ago? Since then, she's addicted to Japanese chocolate too!lol It's THAT good!

Movie Night: Bring It On: Fight to the Finish

Bring It On: Fight to the Finish (2009)

Christina Milian, Cody Longo, Laura Cerón, Nikki SooHoo, Rachele Brooke Smith

When I watched: September 26, 2009
Where I watched: Home, PPV

I like "Bring It On" series.lol Yea, basically it's always same, but it's fun. N I like Christina Milian, she's so cute! But... a high-school student? Really??lol She's late 20s... Well, she looks very young...

It was good... just as good as other "Bring It On" series. Oh, Michele LOVED it! Every time they cheer in the movie, Michele just got up n danced a front of TV!

So, who's gonna be next "Bring It On" star???lol

Who's Hot?: Criss Angel

It's Saturday morning, sittin on the couch... Watching Criss Angel Mindfreak... Damn!!! WTH!? How can it be possible???

Criss Angel
Magician, illusionist, musician, escapologist, and stunt performer

Have you seen his show? What is he? Is he really a human being???lol It's just unbelievable... N, of course he's not a bad looking guy. Well he's not my type, but I gotta admit, he's hot! By ALL meaning!lol

Positive Thoughts 101: Enjoy your "Down Time"

I haven't update my blog enough lately, huh? Well, been busy? Yes n No. It was, more like... I've been in my down time... You know I'm an unbeatable positive person, but I'm not afraid to admit that I sometimes have these time as well. Depression? Nah, it's nothing like that. There's not even cause. Just feel like doing absolutely nothing. N my body's like sleepy n sleepy even after I took 10 hours sleep.lol

I think it's natural though. I believe we all have "Up time" n "Down time". You know, there are days you feel so energize, n there are days you don't wanna do anything at all. Sometimes there's a reason to it, but my theory is it's just a natural thing. So I would just let time solve it. N I would say...

#4 Enjoy your "Down Time"

When you have this "down time", sometimes you don't have to seek why. We all sometimes have these days don't feel like doing anything. It doesn't mean we are in depression, it doesn't mean we are not happy. So, in your free time, just sleep or read book or watch TV... just don't think much.

Not only that, when you have "down time", next it comes to "up time". Yea, just like there's always up hill after down hill. So this "down time" is just a prelude of your "up time".

See, I basically enjoyed my "down time".lol Is that because I'm just a happy person??

Countdown!

Yay! The countdown to the day my hubby comes home is now officially started!! It's less than a month!! He'll be home before Halloween!

Wow... When we found out that he'll be gone for 8 months, I couldn't even imagine what's gonna happen, but thanks to my friends, it was not that bad after all. That doesn't mean that I don't mind him sent away again. I want him to be home, that would be my first choice. But I gotta admit, because we have to be apart like this, we get to know how important he is to us, we are to him. I realized a lot of things he does, after he left here, n I get to appreciate it. So I would say, this IA order was meant to be, it worked well for him, obviously he did a great job there(yes, he's got the sailor of the month!), I've got 2 letters from his commanders telling me how much works he's done n showing me appreciation, which I am very proud of him, n made me respect his job more than before.

But I won't lie! I can't wait for him to come home!!! I already have a long "to do" list!!!lol

Furlough Fridays

So, we just found out, state of Hawaii D.O.E. will start furlough Fridays after the fall break, which means NO SCHOOL on these Fridays. It says 17 furlough Fridays, so most of Fridays... Looking at the school calendar, if the week has a holiday or other school off day, then no furlough Friday in that week, but other Fridays are most likely this furlough Fridays. Basically... Kids in Hawaii have school only 4days a week. Which they have a half day on Wednesday, so technically 3 and a half days a week.

HOW RIDICULOUS IS THAT!?!?!?

John's headache

John has been complaining about his headache quite often lately. Sometimes he gets fever from his headache too. I start to think that he may got my migraine which I really hope not.

One thing he says about his headache is the sun light bothers him a lot. So I started to let him wear his cap to school. I hope this'll work...

Lyric Sunday: Selfish

This song was on the radio all the time like 2yrs ago. Well, it's nothing like I could relate to this song or anything like that, but it's good.lol Go, girl!lol

Selfish

Lets start by correcting ya tone
Lower ya finger, don't be comin' at me
With condescending demeanors.
We both know that ya dead wrong
And what makes it worse,
you don't even have the nerve
To ever say that you're sorry

You're never wrong and i'm never right and
You win all the rounds in every fight
Thats why...

Can't stay another day when you're always
Gettin your way , you just keep getting your way
You just keep getting your way (selfish)
So I decided not to get in your way
Its time to do it my way and that means
Getting away from you, ya selfish!

How is it that you can look at us and only see you
You can look at one but, never would you ever see two
You can live a lie and never be true
Its so funny now, how clearly I can see you

You're never wrong and I'm never right and
You win all the rounds in every fight
Thats why...

Can't stay another day when you're always
Gettin your way , you just keep getting your way
You just keep getting your way (selfish)
So I decided not to get in your way
Its time to do it my way and that means
Getting away from you, ya selfish!

No we don't need to talk
Ain't nothin left to say
You got everything ya want
Go ahead and have ya cake
I know what's best for me
We go our separate ways
Leaving you with everything
Even all the pain

Can't stay another day when you're always
Gettin your way , you just keep getting your way
You just keep getting your way
So I decided not to get in your way
Its time to do it my way and that means
Getting away from you, ya selfish!

by Asia Cruise

I always like this kinda girls' song.lol Girls gotta be strong, you know. Again, I'm not in this kinda situation(I'm probably more selfish than my hubby is?lmao), but this is one of my favorites! So I wanna send this song to all girls!!

Movie Night: Knowing

Knowing (2009)

When I watched: September 19, 2009
Where I watched: Home, DVD

Hmm... Kinda scary... Well, I mean kinda scary overall, but how it ended scared me most. Like, I hope it won't happen!lol

Actually John watched all to the end with me. I would be scared watching this movie if I was his age. I don't think he really understood the movie, but to me, it would be a nightmare if I dream about it... I hope he won't dream about it...

See, this kinda story... the stories about "the end of the world"... it's interesting, but I get scared. I still cannot think that day would come. I am the person who say, "someon e really smart would think of something really good by the time comes." Not knowing anything, but I guess I'm hoping so.

Nicolas Cage was good in this movie as well. His movies are always good, though I am not a big fan. I mean, I like his movies, but he's not my type.lol That's all. So, of course this is one of his good movies... I am not sure if I wanna watch it again, just because I'm kinda scared...lol

Movie Night: The Wrestler

The Wrestler (2008)

When I watched: September 19, 2009
Where I watched: Home, DVD

As a wrestling fan family, yea, we needed to watch this movie. Well... definitely not for kids though... I had to skip so many scenes... Good thing that John only cared about R-Truth(WWE Superstar) appeared a lil bit.lol

It is a very sad story... It's probably very close to real. It is a good movie, but it really made me sad... not only about all wrestlers, but it could be for all people getting old... When we are young, we feel that we can do whatever, the life seems successful, never thought that successful life would come to end... We wouldn't even realize that we are actually getting older... or maybe refuse to admit. I think I've seen similar stories in real life many times. So that made me really sad, but it is a good movie.

Movie Night: Kit Kittredge: An American Girl

Kit Kittredge: An American Girl (2008)

When I watched: September 18, 2009
Where I watched: Home, DVD

It's (one of) my dream, the old-classic-America! Tree house is definitely my dream of all time!lol I always dream of a tree house!
It is a very cute story. I would say, it's a very good movie to watch with kids... well, unfortunately my kids are a lil too young to enjoy the story... they fell asleep again...lol

Well, to me... I learned something from this movie, actually. The word "hobo" has a lil different meaning than I thought. I mean, I thought "hobo" simply means "homeless people", but after I saw this movie, I think I found a lil deeper meaning in "hobo". I mean, in good way. See, if I could learn something from this movie, this would be a good kids movie as well, right?lol

Yea, it teaches you about caring people no matter if they are rich or poor, kinda thing. I wish my kids would understand the movie... well, we can watch it again...

John's New Pet Snail

This is John's new pet snail, Gary. Yep, he got that name from the yellow guy's snail...lol

Kids found this huge snail on the way to the school yesterday. Of course they want to keep him as our pet. Well, I guess it's not too difficult to keep... So I went back to the house, grabbed a tapper wear, n John took him to school that day, for show n tell, I guess. John's teacher researched what we can feed to snail, found out snail would eat pretty much everything in salad. So after we came home, I put some lettuce leaves. Wow... He eats, really... I mean I didn't see he's actually eating, but a couple of leaves disappeared over night! Seriously! I mean, seriously!?lol

Tattoo! Ha!

Yep, I got my first tattoo today! The top one is mine, the second one is Lani's, n the third one is Carla's.

Mine is about 5 to 6 inch? It took a little over an hour I think, it didn't hurt as I expected. This kinda pain, totally I can handle, I would say.lol Well the part I got, which is below my neck between the shoulder blades, is probably not really a painful spot.

In case you didn't read the post I wrote about why I pick this design... This cross-anchor is the symbol of my hubby's rate in Navy. He loves what he does, n I would say he's born to be a boatswain mate. I am really proud of him for what he does n how he does. So that's kinda one way to show him my love, maybe?lmao

Anyway, it was fun! It was good I went with my friends too! I already sent this pic to my hubby, but can't wait til he comes home n actually sees it!

Breaking Point 2009 - Cena didn't quit!

The Champ Is Back! Yay!lol More than anything, we are happy about John Cena's victory, even though he would never say "I quit!"... the match was called "I quit match", not like a regular match, to win, they have to make their opponent say "I quit!", which Cena was promising he will not quit. And all of his fans know he will NEVER quit!

The other matches... Kofi Kingston won n still has his title, but DX lost, n the Undertaker lost... well, CM Punk cheated... So, which means he's so dead now!

Alright, anyway Cena is champ again, I can't wait to watch tomorrow's RAW...lol

Lyric Sunday: Mad

Ne-yo is one of my favorite artists... oh, I love his songs! There's many of his songs I love, but this one, I almost cried the first time I listened/saw this music video!

Mad

She's staring at me,
I'm sitting wondering what she's thinking.
Ummm
Nobody's talking, cause' talking just turns into screaming (Oooo)
And now yes I'm yelling over her, she yelling over me,
all that that means is neither of us are listening,
and what's even worse,
that we don't even remember why we're fighting

So both of us are mad for nothing,
fighting for nothing, crying for nothing, (oohh)
But we won't let it go for nothing,
come back for nothing, it should be nothing
to a love like what we got oh baby

I know some times it's gonna rain,
But baby can we make up now cause
I can't sleep through the pain
Girl I don't want to go to bed, mad at you
and I don't want you to go to bed, mad at me
no I don't want to go to bed mad at you
and I don't want you to go to bed, mad at me (oh noo)

Umm
and it gets me upset girl when you're constantly accusing
(asking questions like you already know)
we're fighting this war baby when both of us are losing
(this ain't the way that love is supposed to go,
what happened to working it out?)
We fall into this place where you ain't backing down,
and I ain't backing down,
so what the hell do we do now?

Its all for nothing,
fighting for nothing, crying for nothing... (oohh)
But we won't let it go for nothing,
nothing, it should be nothing
to a love like what we got oh baby

I know some times it's gonna rain,
But baby can we make up now cause
I can't sleep through the pain
girl I don't want to go to bed mad at you
and I don't want you to go to bed, mad at me
no I don't want to go to bed mad at you
and I don't want you to go to bed, mad at me (oh noo)

Oh baby this love ain't gone be perfect,
And just how good it's gonna be
We can fuss and we can fight long as everything is alright
between us before we go to sleep...

Baby we're gonna be...
Happy..
ohhhh....ohhhh

Baby I know some times it's gonna rain,
But baby can we make up now cause
I can't sleep through the pain
girl I don't want to go to bed mad at you
and I don't want you to go to bed, mad at me
no I don't want to go to bed mad at you
and I don't want you to go to bed, mad at me (oh noo, nooo, noo)

by Ne-yo

I totally agree!lol Me n my hubby never be able to mad at each other over night. To me, when we fight n get mad at him really bad, but when I think if it's really worth to be mad... cuz, maybe not like this music video(though it could happen like that too), but I could lose the one who I really really love only because I couldn't get over it... then start to miss laughing together n stuff, realize we are wasting time. Fortunately my hubby seems be same way.lol

Movie Night: Alfie

Alfie (2004)

When I watched: September 12, 2009
Where I watched: Home, on TBS(recorded)

OK, first of all... He's too sexy!lol First 30mins., I thought it was an adult movie only for ladies! You know, it's not just sexual, but sexy...lol

Well, anyway, this was the first time for me to watch Alfie. Why? I didn't really like Jude Law back then. So I never really wanted to watch.lol Then I watched The Holiday a few months ago, n OMG... he IS hot! Since then, I always wanted to watch Alfie, but didn't have a chance. But I found it in the channel guide this morning, so I recorded it! Ha! It was a good idea that I recorded it, cuz again, it was so NOT for kids to watch!lol

The story was good too. Like the male version of Sex and the City? I always like this kind of love story. The love stories which make me feel discuss about "love".lol Alright, I'll do that another time! I'm getting sleepy now, so I better go to sleep... Sweet dreams to me!lmao

Movie Night: Speed Racer

Speed Racer (2008)

When I watched: September 12, 2009
Where I watched: Home, DVD

I liked the color n the graphic, but the story is a lil complicated in the first half. It's very colorful n bright, n made for kids friendly very much, so I thought my kids would love it, but they end up fell asleep... actually this was our second time... last time they fell asleep in 10mins. after the movie started. The last half is actually fun to watch. More racing n action. So I guess I will try to let kids watch again. If they make it to the last half, they would like it.

The funny thing... I didn't realize until I started to watch this one, but the same actor(Emile Hirsch) in main-role, in 2 movies in one night.lol He actually looks like the original Japanese animation character. Yep, this Speed Racer is originaly Japanese Animation, which is very very old, but I've watched it(not in real-time) when I was little. Oh, n I liked the music! They used the original theme song for BGM!

I guess it was good, after all...

Movie Night: Alpha Dog

Alpha Dog (2006)

When I watched: September 12, 2009
Where I watched: Home, on USA

Based on true story. Wow... I didn't know about this story at all. I love watching the movies based on true stories, though it's always sad in the end of this type of true stories... cuz there's always victims. N also gets me scared too. Well, in this case, I got scared for my kids, of course...

It was a good movie with good starring. I was happy to find the guy from my favorite TV show Southland, Shawn Hatosy, his role was totally opposite...lol I can't wait for the next season of Southland already!

Movie Night: In Her Shoes

In Her Shoes (2005)

When I watched: September 12, Saturday
Where I watched: Home, on FX

This is a very good story... Like, makes me wanna read the original book(even though I don't read books... in English...lol).

This movie is about the family love n some life, but also has a lil bit love story and a lil bit fashion... I'm glad that I could sit down n relax watching it. (I sent my kids upstairs to play...lol)

I really liked the movie. It's all going toward to "positive". This kind of movies always make me feel that there's tons of positive possibilities in my life too. Good movie!

There's always a good news, and a bad news... but it's all good to know.

Our daughter Michele is a lil tiny princess. She's very little as her age, which all the doctors we had seen, told us that's because she's a half Japanese. Well, I am not a small girl, especially as a Japanese. But my mom is. So we were told she probably has that in her gene.
Today, I took her for the follow up appointment for her unknown abdominal pain on Sunday. There was nothing found in her urine sample, which is a good thing, but same time they don't know what it was, which concerns me very much. But today, there was more.
The doctor she was seen today was very nice. I would say, for the first time(for Michele), we met the doctor who would concern 120% about her patients. She didn't put the label of "her half-Japanese gene"(not offensive though) on her, about her very light weight. She concerned(but not over concerned) about it, so she sent Michele to the lab n run the blood test. Which is very an easy thing, even though it's not a serious concern. I felt very comfortable talking to this doctor. She was not like scared me or anything about it, but she's more like making sure, which I think all doctors should be.
Unfortunately there are so many doctors who have their strong opinions, n they would just decide what it is without run tests nor even listen to patients very well. If the patient doesn't have fever, then some doctor would say "oh, don't worry." Of course most of time they are right, but still, they would listen to their patients very well, n concern about each single case.
So I finally met the great pediatrician for our kids. N guess what she found?
Poor Michele has an anemic. The doctor told me, I don't have to worry too much about it, n it's still her gene should be a part of her light weight n size, but same time, we may be able to find out the way we can help her gain/grow better. N that's exactly what we would like to hear from the doctor, when we have to face this kind of problems.
Now, it would be a lie if I say I'm not worried. I felt very bad for our little princess, thinking about we could do earlier if we found out before. It may not be a big problem, but I felt her weaker today, only because what we found out today. I am not being a negative about it at all, because now we'll be able to help her being healthier. So this is a good thing that we found out.
But I couldn't help hugging her tighter than usual tonight...

Well we watch WWE, n not my hubby but I am the one who started this family wide WWE fan!lol N here's the thing... The rules of hot guys #2(#1 was "gotta be a REAL man"); have cute smiles. Yep, he has one!

Good thing, our son is a HUGE John Cena fan! ...or should I say, I raised him that way?lmao So lucky him or lucky me, he gets all kind of John Cena stuffs...lol BTW, our son John was NOT named after John Cena, John Cena was not very famous yet when we named him our first son John(named after Chris's Grandpa). But I would say, if we get a new pet, the pet's name will be "Cena" for sure!lol

I'd do anything...

Yesterday morning, Michele was complaining her tummy hurts. She was crying... more like screaming for an hour. I took her to the bathroom, but she didn't wanna poo. She was still screaming. Her temperature was 101 at the time, so not too high, but slightly fever. I decided to take her to ER. I called my friend n she took us there.

After she screamed for 20mins. she cried herself out to sleep, then after 40mins. to 1hour, she screamed in pain again. It just kept coming back like that. I felt powerless looking at my daughter screaming in pain in my arm but couldn't do anything for her pain go away. We waited n waited. Finally a nurse took us back the triage area n gave her tylenol.

After she took tylenol, she had 1more pain, but after that... The pain seemed gone away. After 4 n a half hours waiting, finally we were called by the doctor, but she was all better...

Yea... I've forgot... Our kids do that to us...

They get extremely sick enough to make us really worried n take them to ER, wait for hours, by the time they're seen by doctors, they're fine, smiling like laughing at us... We look like totally liar or stupid parents...

But you now what?

I'd do anything for my kids. I'd do anything to protect their smile. So if it costs making myself look like a fool, I'd happy to be one!

P.S.
They couldn't tell what was the cause, there was nothing in her urine sample as they could know as of yesterday. But another result will be back in a day, so we are going to the clinic to follow up. She's doing totally okay today. I hope it's nothing...

Lyric Sunday: Can't Take My Eyes Off You

This is one of my favorite, it's also our wedding song as well. This song's been sung by many artists, but the one I really love is the original, by Frankie Valli. Well I didn't know about the original until I saw this movie, "Conspiracy Theory"(Mel Gibson, Julia Roberts). I was very into this song when I listened to this original for the first time. N I remember that very next day, I went to a store to look for his CD.

Can't Take My Eyes Off You

You're just too good to be true;
Can't take my eyes off of you.
You'd be like Heaven to touch;
I wanna hold you so much.

At long last love has arrived,
I thank God I'm alive.
You're just too good to be true;
Can't take my eyes off of you.

Pardon the way that I stare:
There's nothing else to compare.
The sight of you leaves me weak;
There are no words left to speak.

But if you feel like I feel,
Please let me know that it's real,
You're just too good to be true;
Can't take my eyes off of you.

I love you, baby!
And if it's quite alright,
I need you, baby,
To warm a lonely night.
I love you, baby;
Trust in me when I say.

Oh, pretty baby,
Don't bring me down, I pray.
Oh, pretty baby,
Now that I found you, stay.
And let me love you, baby,
Let me love you.

You're just too good to be true;
Can't take my eyes off of you.
You'd be like Heaven to touch;
I wanna hold you so much.

At long last love has arrived,
I thank God I'm alive.
You're just too good to be true;
Can't take my eyes off of you.

I love you, baby!
And if it's quite alright,
I need you, baby,
To warm a lonely night.
I love you, baby;
Trust in me when I say.

Oh, pretty baby,
Don't bring me down, I pray.
Oh, pretty baby,
Now that I found you, stay.
Oh, pretty baby,
Trust in me when I say.

I need you, baby!
Well won't you come stay
Oh. pretty baby.
Now that I found you, stay.
And let me love you,
baby.Let me love you.

by Frankie Valli

Again, this is a very sweet love song... Awww...lol

Movie Night: Private Valentine: Blonde & Dangerous

Private Valentine: Blonde & Dangerous (2008)

When I watched: September 4, 2009
Where I watched: Home, on TBS

Funny! First 20mins, I thought it's very cheapy, but it was a funny stupid movie!lol So I liked it after all. The story is still cheapy, but it's comedy, so it's good.

Jessica Simpson is very pretty, n stupid...lol I don't think her act is any good, but this character is like herself... I think she could make more comedy movies like this.

I'm glad I could watch this movie on TV!

Movie Night: Coraline

Coraline (2009)

Voice: Dakota Fanning, Teri Hatcher, Keith David, Robert Bailey Jr., John Hodgman, Jennifer Saunders, Dawn French, Ian McShane

When I watched: September 4, 2009
Where I watched: Home, DVD

First I thought this movie may be a lil scary for kids... It's a bit weird, but not too scary, after all. It was long as an animation movie, but since it's based on the novel, the story was well made.

Actually John n Michele loved it. I thought it's a lil difficult, but John seems that he understood the story. Hmm...lol

Dakota Fanning did very good with her character. Over all, it was a good movie.

Friday is Playday!

Kinda rhyme...lol

Because he doesn't have school tomorrow. Because they can stay up til late. Because they did very good all week. Because it's very nice n hot outside. Because I'm already done cooking dinner. Because I love watching them playing like this...

It's really nice, cuz I can just sit on the swing, n it's in shade. It's quiet enough to read a book or blog on my phone. I guess it works for all of us!lol

Bungie The Clown!

Today, they had the clown at the library. Her name is Bungie.:) She was a very nice clown, kids danced with her, sang with her, played with her... She brought her pet, Manny the bunny, n kids could pet him too. Then Bungie the clown gave a balloon to each one of kids!

I think this is the first time for Michele to meet a clown, n she really enjoyed! Now she loves clowns!lol

Well let's see about that!

Little Shining Full Moon

I found the very nice lil shining full moon, so we went outside n looked at the moon for a while after we took shower... Well now I checked the moon calender, n tomorrow would be full moon night, so it was not completely full moon, I guess... but it was very very beautiful... It was very nice outside too, not hot, not cold, not humid... If this was not a school night, we would have stayed a lil longer...

By the way... Don't you think the moon is mysterious? It changes shape n color n size... I know there is a good explanation if I would look up. But let's leave it just the way it looks...lol

So what kind of stories do you know about the moon?

In Japan, there is a very very famous old tale about this princess named Kaguya. She was found in a bamboo tree by an old couple, they raised her as their daughter. She was so beautiful, but one day, she had to go home... to the moon. I forgot the all story, but I guess she was beautiful as the moon...

Another one, our tradition, we eat Mochi when the moon is full, n we say there are rabbits on the moon making Mochi... Haha, don't ask me why!

Oh, n in the book of tonight's bed time story, "Anansi's Party Time", it ends the spider n the crab went up to the moon with the 8 balloons, n the balloons went pop n they floated down to the moon. Then they stuck on the moon ever since... So when we see the moon, it said we can see the shapes of the spider or the crab... It's cute!(n this book was the best timing for my kids! Ha!)

Here, people would think about Werewolves when the moon is full...? Anyway, it's mysterious... right?

I like looking at the moon though. When I was little... I thought the moon was chasing me while I was in a car at night...lol Not scary way, but funny way. So I didn't get bored just looking at the moon from inside of a car.

N this one. Well it only applies to the place in same time zone, I guess... but for the couples who are having long-distance relationship, they can talk on the phone at nights looking at the same moon... That is so romantic!!!

Alright...lol Anyway, it was a very nice time... According to the moon calender, we will have full moon tomorrow, so maybe we can stay outside a lil longer tomorrow night...

Yup, we are Japanese!

N we LOVE rice!lmao Well my Irish hubby loves rice too, which is good for me...lol

Believe or not, when I was a kid, I didn't really like eating rice. It was not like "hate", I still ate it of course, but it was not my favorite. Then I would say since I started to work... I started to "appreciate" rice!lol

I think that eating rice is very good for kids. Good thing they love rice. Oh, I am not really good with looking at all nutrition n stuff. So it's not a professional opinion at all, but from how we were raised, at least I can tell only meat is not good for your health! It's gotta be balanced, right? Haha.

So anyway, rice is good!

How We Raise Our Kids

Before I really realized... Our son John is already in 1st grade. I've been busy with homework n school stuff, I didn't have a chance to look back what I am doing. I don't mean that I think I am doing wrong. I just think, sometimes we parents need to take time to look at what we are doing about raising kids.

When I was pregnant with John... I really didn't think anything special about how we are gonna raise this kid. I don't know, but one - I didn't have "mom" friends, two - I was really busy with anything else, as wedding, greencard, moving... But as soon as John's born... I became a "mom" by all meaning. I started to think how we are gonna raise John, how we want John to be... N I loved(still love) talking... or should I say discussing... about how we do about raising kids with my hubby. Fortunately me n my hubby almost have same thoughts about it. So really most of things, like 98%, we agree to each other.

We love our parents... oops, I would say mothers. My parents are not married, I have a father n I see him, but I never lived with him. He supported us with all money situations, but basically my mom taught me everything.

I love my mom, n I love the way my mom raised me. She was not a strict mom. She never was bossing me around. She showed me her love 200% all the time. She always listens to me. One rule of hers, really I remember that, is "Do NOT hurt people." which applies to physically AND mentally. She was a mom who was not afraid to let me make a mistake, so she knew I would learn from there. She never gave up on me. She is my mom, and same time she's been my best friend, not since I grew up, but she's always been that way. I love talking to my mom, because she listens and gives me advices as one person.

Then the result of that... I am very happy. I respect my mom, I really appreciate her for raising me this way. It's very interesting, but my hubby was raised almost exactly same way! That's why we agree to each other about how to raise our kids.

We want our kids to be very close to us, want them to feel that they want to talk to us everything. Not they HAVE TO TALK TO US. We want to be the parents our kids would respect. I believe that is not the right way to say "We want our KIDS TO RESPECT us" or "They HAVE TO RESPECT us". I believe that WE HAVE TO be the parents they would respect. I believe that all children have their choices to love or not love their parents. Yes, that sounds a lil sad, but they do! How can we earn their love? Let them do whatever they want? Never say no??

I say "no" to my kids when they try to do something obviously wrong, n I am not afraid to say that. I yell at kids when they don't listen to me, n I am not afraid to do so. I punish kids when they did something wrong, n I am not afraid to do that. Did I lose their love? No! Sametime... I don't forget to appreciate to my kids when they did something good, don't forget to apologize when I did something wrong, lol do play together a lot(yea, sometimes it looks too much!lol) So there is trust between us. I am enjoying being a mom of them, n I believe that they are enjoying being children of us.

What I mean is... They really don't have to listen to parents if they don't want to, but WE have to be the parents that they would CHOOSE TO LISTEN to. Do you want your kids to listen to adults only because they are adults? No! Oh, I still teach kids to show their respect to adults though. But it doesn't mean they have to listen to them n do whatever they told them to do. That would be very dangerous... But sametime, I don't want our kids to disrespect adults. Not because adults are greater than kids, but because adults experienced much more than kids.

I am not going to say that this is the right way to anybody. Every parents have their own way to raise their kids. N I am not gonna to say anything about it. Well... at least, unless the parents want some advices or if the children obviously need help.

We want our kids to be happy, as I believe all parents want same thing to their children. But what I mean is, we want our kids to be happy every single day. We love our moms(parents), n that's a big part of our happy life. We want to give same thing to our children. We are not "just" a part of their life, but we want to be a "BIG" part of their happy life.

N looking back like this, actually that's what we need sometimes... especially when we feel so busy n feel no time to think. Just so we can be sure where we are at right now.
