Another Sky

As I said before, I love sky. I love looking at it, I love taking pictures of it. Especially now, I carry my camera everywhere I go(n it's not even one of those tiny pocket size cameras), I just take pictures of the sky anytime I feel like it. Yea, I definitely look like a geek...(well, I am a geek.;))

Actually I always wanted to take pictures of the sky. I thought that I need a special lens to take one. Well, I guess those professional photographers uses special lenses, but my camera does fabulous job too! It shows a beautiful color of the sky, just the way I like.

I really believe that looking at the sky is make people happy n positive. First of all, looking up is a great way to stay positive. Then look at the sky. The sky has a lot of faces, colors, a lot of shapes of clouds... Sometimes you can see the sun light between the clouds, it's just amazing.

Another Sky. Actually that is the title of a TV show in Japan. It's not all about the sky, more like travel kinda show. But I liked this title right away, because the sky is always difference, n I always look for another sky.

The Cricket in Our Bathroom

We have a cricket living in our bathroom. It's been about a week? Or maybe more. I don't know how long it supposed to live, but it's still alive... First I heard this noise in our bathroom, because we leave the fan... the ventilator... whatever on in our bathroom, I thought it came from there. You know, sometime it makes unknown noise? It sure was annoying, but what I could do about it?

But then, the other day, I was cleaning the bathroom floor, I found out the noise is not coming from the ceiling, but somewhere on the floor. I looked around... well... so that was when I realized that all this time that noise was actually (possibly) a cricket. But where? I don't see it anywhere... first of all, I would be already freaked out if I saw it there, second of all, I highly doubt it would just stay in our bathroom so long... Then I was looking at one possible place... The plunger... It was in the plastic cover sittin on the corner behind of the toilet... Yea, the noise sure came from there... I moved the plunger a lil bit, n the noise stopped. Then it started again, so I touched again, then it stopped! A-HA!

So I cautiously opened the plunger cover... I definitely didn't want it to jump out on me! But I don't see it. I know that you are in there...lol I didn't have guts to look through. I hate bugs.lol Hmm... I guess it is IN the plunger... I thought that I could use the plunger so it would come out n all I have to do is flush. But I just didn't. Well, I thought it would die soon...

Obviously it has a long life. I thought it lives only a week or so? No? So now every time I go to the bathroom, I touch the top of the plunger n give a lil shake n it stops. But now, it gets smarter, so it stops making its noise when I walk to the bathroom! Even before get in there! Ha! Isn't that funny?

Little Shining Full Moon

I found the very nice lil shining full moon, so we went outside n looked at the moon for a while after we took shower... Well now I checked the moon calender, n tomorrow would be full moon night, so it was not completely full moon, I guess... but it was very very beautiful... It was very nice outside too, not hot, not cold, not humid... If this was not a school night, we would have stayed a lil longer...

By the way... Don't you think the moon is mysterious? It changes shape n color n size... I know there is a good explanation if I would look up. But let's leave it just the way it looks...lol

So what kind of stories do you know about the moon?

In Japan, there is a very very famous old tale about this princess named Kaguya. She was found in a bamboo tree by an old couple, they raised her as their daughter. She was so beautiful, but one day, she had to go home... to the moon. I forgot the all story, but I guess she was beautiful as the moon...

Another one, our tradition, we eat Mochi when the moon is full, n we say there are rabbits on the moon making Mochi... Haha, don't ask me why!

Oh, n in the book of tonight's bed time story, "Anansi's Party Time", it ends the spider n the crab went up to the moon with the 8 balloons, n the balloons went pop n they floated down to the moon. Then they stuck on the moon ever since... So when we see the moon, it said we can see the shapes of the spider or the crab... It's cute!(n this book was the best timing for my kids! Ha!)

Here, people would think about Werewolves when the moon is full...? Anyway, it's mysterious... right?

I like looking at the moon though. When I was little... I thought the moon was chasing me while I was in a car at night...lol Not scary way, but funny way. So I didn't get bored just looking at the moon from inside of a car.

N this one. Well it only applies to the place in same time zone, I guess... but for the couples who are having long-distance relationship, they can talk on the phone at nights looking at the same moon... That is so romantic!!!

Alright...lol Anyway, it was a very nice time... According to the moon calender, we will have full moon tomorrow, so maybe we can stay outside a lil longer tomorrow night...

Mo Willems

Since John started the 1st grade, I've been reading books to kids every night. We go to the library every wednesday, n borrow 6 to 7 books for a week.

There are 2 books has same author, in 7 books we borrowed last Wednesday, I didn't realize til we got home.

Mo Willems. It's very cute! Obviously he has some series of books. His stories are very simple, pictures are very very cute! I really like it.

Actually, one of my life-long-dream is making children books.

When I was 14yrs old, I was in the hospital for 3 month. I had Kidney Infection, but I didn't have pain or anything, n there were a couple of same age patients in the same room, so I actually enjoyed it. Anyway, there was this one nurse who was going to the school for making children books, n she brought her home work, which to make her own children book, when she had a night shift. She was doing at the nurse station, I loved visiting her there when I couldn't sleep...

I don't have any talent to draw pictures or cartoon, but I DO have unlimited imagination...lol So one day, I want to make my own children books... Hopefully before my kids are grown up...lol

Under a Big Tree

One thing I love about Hawaii is these big trees.

Well, I am not really a tree person. If there's a tree in a front of our house then I would worry about bugs n stuff before thinking about getting some good shades n another good points. I don't like living in woods, cuz I don't like bugs n lil animals.lol

But I like these big trees, the trees just like in story books... N when I stand under the tree n look up... That's a wonderful view right there! You can see this beautiful blue sky with shiny sunlight between all leaves... Isn't that wonderful?

Huh!? Look, what I found!lol

This is Michele's favorite jacket. Do we need jackets in Hawaii??? Yes, WE need jackets in this house.lol

OK, how many of you actually pay attention to inside of your or kids clothes?? Just the other day, only because it was just thrown on the floor n it was opened... N I was like...

"Huh...? WTH is that???"

First I thought it was a bug. Then I didn't see its moving, so next I thought it was a hair ball.(Yea, two girls living in this house, what do you expect?) Then I got closer... Oh, my! What a cute surprise! She has this jacket for a while now, n I didn't know til now!

It's not like I found a diamond, but it sure made me a lil happy...:):):) This is exactly a small happiness in my ordinary life, n it just made my day more lovable.lol

Sick nights... What is this thing anyway!?

I totally had a relaxing day today... I was gonna take kids out, but Michele started throwing up last night, n there it was, same thing as John, she continued throwing up every 20 to 30mins., til 4am, total of 9 times... Poor baby... So I ended up sleeping in the bathroom again. Oh, my body hurt so bad this morning...lol

What is this thing anyway? Well I found out from John's teacher, many kids in his class plus his teacher got sick all same time, which means it came from his class... The good thing was, they didn't get any fever or anything else... at least my kids didn't. Just over-night thing, even though it was very very bad. By the next morning, they are fine as usual. But obviously it's very contagious. I haven't got it yet...?

Well, over a month ago, I actually had a similar thing. Mine started with a heavy migraine. Well so, I thought it was a migraine. I have that sometimes. N when it gets worse, I will have vomiting as well. So I did, n I still thought it was because of that migraine. So I took all kind of headache medicines, but it didn't get any better. Then I started to get dehydrated... only I didn't realize that... SO, my face color turned GREEN(not pale, because I'm so tanned...lol), I couldn't even walked to the bathroom, I had to crawl there... I didn't have fever either. Then I remembered that I've heard when we get dehydrated, the temperature would go down... So I drank my sports drink(from Japan... It works SO WELL!), then right after that, I felt heat... Stupid me, then finally I realized that it was not a migraine anymore, but it was some kinda flu!lol So I took NyQuil, n it never fail...

So what I had was probably not exactly same as my kids had. But the way of vomiting was so similar. Throwing up again n again didn't make me feel any better! So I knew how they exactly felt like... Poor my babies...

Again, good thing, they are totally fine... My body might hurt a lil bit, but it's totally worth it!

Always a Girl

Aren't we always like her? Look at the mirror, smile at herself n see if she's perfect looking today... or at least okay looking...lol

It's fun to be a girl. It doesn't matter if we have boy friends or not. It doesn't matter if we have any special plan tonight or not. We still make ourselves pretty, n that make us happier.

So don't forget to smile at yourself in the mirror everyday. Because we'll be always the girl who you saw in the mirror when we were little!

Is Felicia really coming?

I guess it's been delayed. Sunday changed to Monday, then Tuesday morning, now it looks like Tuesday afternoon... Well, I guess more delayed, more it gets weak...? Right now, Monday night, it's very quiet... It was a lil raining this afternoon, but not really windy or anything like that here in Oahu Island.

OK, I am not very used to all these... again, I am from Tokyo, n I was spoiled!!! Japanese buildings were built very strong, we never really lose powers.

Then when we lived in Virginia, I experienced my first American Hurricane... I forgot the name...lol. Before it hit, everybody was in panic! Buying all waters, dried food, this n that... Since my hubby had to leave with his ship due to the Hurricane, I stayed at my friends' house. Well we had fun.lol N, like we expected, we lost power. Our apartment got the power back very next day, but some area didn't get the power back for a while... But anyway, was I scared? Hmmm... Not really... Maybe because, I was at my friends' house n kinda partying?

Now Felicia already level down to Tropical Storm, so it won't be that bad anyway, but how bad is it gonna get???

My most concern is John's school. I don't drive, so I walk him to school everyday, with 3yrs-old Michele. I really don't wanna take 2 kids outside in a heavy rain. The school said, they were not told anything by the state yet, which means, the school may still open tomorrow...

So... now what is going on, Felicia???

Miss Virginia

Oh, I am not talking about "Miss Virginia", I meant I miss Virginia, lol all of sudden... Yea, all of sudden, I miss the time we lived in the small but cute apartment in Downtown VA Beach(but not really close to the beach), that's my start point in U.S.

March 2003, we got married in his hometown in PA, stayed with his family about a month, then we drove down to Little Creek Base in VA, which was his next station . This whole trip was of course my first time for all meaning. So everything was new to me, n obviously my hubby had never been in VA either. After all day driving from PA, we got to Little Creek in late night.

We had only 2 weeks to do everything, find a place to live, buy some furniture, n the car we drove from PA just got broken, so we even had to buy a new vehicle. We had only 2 weeks because I had to go back to Japan to process for my green card, n he had to fly out to meet his new ship in Bahrain.

So we went to the housing office, n got a list of "military-friendly" apartments. I've lived by myself in Japan, but this, in U.S., and not single but as family, this thing was totally the first time for me, I didn't know anything about renting apartments or housings in U.S. So what I said to my hubby was "I don't want to live any OLD places."

We were looking for 2-bedroom apartment, n there was this one. I don't even remember if we went to check other places or not, but this one, I fell in love with. It was just behind all buildings, which they were still renovating Downtown VA Beach, in that little apartment community, there was a cute pool by the community center, n we saw a model room... it was a beautiful! So we decided that we want to live there. We couldn't move in right away, the move-in-date was after I left, but before he left.

Now we got our first place together, we got address... so next, furniture. We couldn't afford all fancy stuff, but we could buy everything we need for first-move-in, as a bed, a dressers, a dining set, a coffee table, and this camel color leather couch... We couldn't afford the love seat n chairs, but our apartment was very small, so we thought that would do it.

Then I had to leave to Japan... How many time I imagined about our first apartment with all those new furniture...

2 months later, after I finished all paperwork, I was 8mos. pregnant with John, but came back to Virginia. My hubby was still in Bahrain, he wouldn't be back another 2 months. One of his friend's wife picked me up at the airport, it was already late night, but finally I was home... in this cute apartment! I opened the door... uhhhhh... where is the light...? Hello? It's dark in here??? I didn't know that some housing don't have ceiling lights in here... In Japan, it's a standard...lol Fortunately my hubby already bought a T.V., n there was a light in the kitchen... so I could survive through the first night... I cannot stand being in a total dark place...
Next morning... OK, what I'm gonna do?lol I remembered that there are stores in a walking distance, as matter of fact, not completed, but Downtown VA Beach is just outside of this community. So I went out.

Oh, btw, I don't drive. I didn't drive back then, I don't drive now. I just didn't need a car in Japan since I lived in Tokyo... So I never got a driver's licence. I don't even know how to drive...

Anyway, there are Hallmark, Starbucks, Barns and Nobles, Bed, Bath & Beyond, Michaels, K-mart, and a small size mall... ALL MY FAVORITE STORES!!!lol I had a BLAST!!! Every morning, I woke up early(because we didn't have lights n nothing to do really...), make myself breakfast(the friend who picked me up at the airport, she took me some grocery shopping n stuff as well...), go to Starbucks n got myself a Grande size Iced Cafe Latte, then just walk around n shop around...lol It was SOOOOOO FUN! Not only that everything was all new to me, but everything I love was just outside of our apartment!

We had to move out the apartment after we found a couple of mice in the winter time, we only lived there less than a year... Then we transferred to San Diego in 2005... But... I miss living that area... yes, all of sudden...

*All pics are what I found in the Internet, Downtown VA Beach Now... Not the apartment we lived...lol

Mr. Monk n Me

Finally! Finally my show, Monk is BACK!!! Oh, I missed you, Mr. Monk! But, yes... I am also very sad because this is the finale season of Monk... Why??? Why do they have to end this show??? This is a great, GREAT show!!

I mean, I love this guy... Mr. Monk... I love watching his smiles, I mean he's always so serious n so Innocent, but so naturally funny...lol He is a character, that's one for sure.lol But not only that, some parts, I actually really understand him...lol Well, I am not "that" O.C.D., but I admit I am "somewhat" O.C.D.

I mean, I don't clean like him, I don't mind shaking hands with ppl, I do wear a lot of type of clothes, and most of all, I am helplessly positive about everything...

But I AM obsessed with straightness(?) n stuff, which drives my hubby crazy, lol. I DO try not step on a line n stay in each block when I walk on some kinda tiled street, lol. I DO fold ALL my plastic bag in triangle to keep them, n they are not just triangle, but have to be EQUILATERAL TRIANGLE!lol. I DO have to organize some of my stuff in order, like good example I always keep bills in order in my wallet... n they all have to be facing same way, n heads down(I've heard, that ways "money" don't go away...lol). I DON'T like being in a dark place or a small shut place.

Well, I am pretty sure many ppl (probably) have some of those habits. That's why Mr. Monk is so loved by everybody... which is me, (or ppl loves this show because they don't understand him so it's just hilarious???) I would love to meet this guy n be his friend(if he accept... but probably he won't), n I would enjoy being his friend!

Don't forget, I am talking about Mr. Monk... Adrian Monk! Not Tony Shalhoub. I mean I like him as well, as an actor, he was a hopelessly-romantic Italian immigrant guy in sitcom "Wings", he was also an alien who owns a pawn shop in "Men In Black", but yea, he's so perfect being Adrian Monk.

Anyway... I love watching what Mr. Monk does. Everything he does, even though I don't do some of those, but still I really really understand. I understand him so much, lol so I feel close to him!lmao Oh, I can't believe that this show is gonna end soon!!! I can't believe that I won't be able to see Mr. Monk anymore!!! But until then... I will enjoy watching you, Mr. Monk!

Sleeping Beauty

I guess I'm the only one who's ready to go to bed here... We woke up early this morning, I mean REALLY early! We woke up so early, John n Michele passed out n took a nap today... Now of course they are WIDE awake! Well few more days til the school really starts, so I am lettin kids stay up longer... But my eye rids are so heavy...

When did I become the person who needs AT LEAST 8hrs. sleep every day? When I was around 20yrs-old, I didn't need to sleep, really! I didn't wanna waste time for sleeping! I was working day n night, partying, dating, chatting... I was a very very busy girl, was enjoying my FULL life!

Yea, say it! I know what you want to say! Yes, I know, I know, I am not a 20yrs-old girl anymore! I am 34yrs-old woman with 2 active non-stop laughing bags for God's sake! I cannot compare myself to those young girls, right?

But do you wanna know what I really think? I think that each human has their own total-sleeping-time.lmao Everybody's numbers are difference, but each one of us has certain number of hours for the life.

So I didn't sleep not really enough when I was young, now I need to get some sleeping hours to catch up... or I will be living like til 2100.lmao

Hahaha. That's one of my theory.lol Yep, there are a few, actually... Serious.lol But tonight, I only share this one... Cuz now, my eye rids really wanna kiss their partners... Nighty-night!
